Paris fashion week is always promising. With collections by some of my favorite designers such as Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Giambattista Valli, Balmain, Valentino and of course the classics such as Lanvin, Dior, Chanel and more there is always a lot to see. It’s the 1st season for Lanvin and Dior without designers Alber Elbaz and Raf Simons and honestly I missed their design aesthetic but there was plenty to see.
To quote Miranda Priestly in one of my favorite books and movies “The Devil Wears Prada”-“Florals for Spring- Earth Shattering!” But that was a strong trend as always and many other trends were strong this season- ruffles, sheer materials and assorted cutouts. The runways themselves have been transformed into experiences- circular runways and actual museum-like displays challenged spectators and pushed the limits of how fashion is presented.
Spring Summer fashion season can be challenging to cover as an observant Jew since it usually comes out right around our New Years holidays time, but between holidays it was so refreshing to take the time to sketch.
So without further ado here are some of my Paris Fashion Week inspired sketches:
Until next time- have a great weekend!
