After reviewing New York (my obvious all time favorite!) it’s time to share my sketches from London, Milan and Paris. I usually would separate them but this season I’m sharing them all at once! Jewish Holiday season made this a little more challenging but as always it’s always a good idea to take the time to find inspiration and draw!
A few things I continued to notice- bubbles!!! From Saint Laurent to Moschino to Mary Katrantzou to Valentino the bubble silhouette was all over the place! More interesting cutouts, lots of red and blue along with shades of pink, fringy goodness all over the place and assorted ruffles. Also mixed patterns and, shocker, floral motifs in assorted variations (florals in spring- shocking to once again quote Miranda Priestly ala Devil Wears Prada fabulousness). Needless to say the changes from season to season this time are minimal and graceful with a hint of outrageous what were they thinking madness which is to be expected especially in London. All in all it’s been a great season.
Paris Fashion week is the best finale as it features some of my all time favorite designers such as Valentino (stunning femininity this season!!), Elie Saab, Balmain and Zuhair Murad- designers who pretty much never disappoint. I’m a little behind this season or should I say fashionably late but here are some sketches inspired by the shows.
